Carol, known for her tall, coiled intricately patterned porcelain vessels and sculptures, now works as a ceramic sculptor concentrating on horses as her subject. After obtaining a BAFA Degree in Ceramics 1974 and Teaching Diploma 1976 from the University of KZN, then lectured Ceramics at DUT. In 1988, was the National Award Winner of the Corobrik National Ceramics Exhibition and since then has received many other National and Regional APSA/CSA awards and recent prizes in KZN. She has works in many Public Collections: Pretoria Art Museum, SASOL, Corobrik Collection, Durban Art Gallery, Nelson Mandela Gallery, East London Art Gallery, Tatham Art Gallery, Durbanville Clay Museum, William Humphreys Gallery - Kimberly, DUT Collection etc. Her work has recently been published twice in Ceramic Review (UK). Living in Durban, she currently focuses on horse sculptures which have received wide recognition for their expressive qualities, elegance and humour. Often whimsical, these sometimes include other animals. She also teaches adult classes drawing and painting.
