November is Ceramics Month in Cape Town
Ceramics Southern Africa would like to invite you to join in our month long celebration of ceramics in Cape Town this November. We have numerous exhibitions, a visit and workshop by Magdalene Odundo, Potters Market, Clay Festival and 30 Studios open to the public.

In November 2014 Ceramics SA has planned a month long celebration of ceramic events under the umbrella title of From African earth; a celebration of ceramics which aims to connect our continent, our country and our city through heritage, retrospective and contemporary ceramics exhibitions, workshops, markets and festivals. This is Ceramics SA’s contribution to Cape Town’s status as World Design Capital.

It is also planned to be a continuing calendar event each year when nationally and internationally it will be known that in Cape Town “November is Ceramics Month”

We have invited Professor Magdalene Odundo MA ( RCA ) OBE to be our Guest of Honour and Award Judge at the 2014 Corobrik National exhibition. She is professor of ceramics at the University for the Creative Arts in Farnham UK. Kenyan born Magdalene Odundo is an international ceramics icon with strong connections to Africa.
