Dineke Den Bakker
I started working with ceramics 30 years ago. I obtained a National Diploma in Ceramic Design in 1994. I completed my B-Tech in Ceramic Design in 2004.
I have won several awards at Regional and National exhibitions organized by Ceramics SA.
My work is mainly sculptural. I am inspired by rock formations, dry earth and natural colours
My one-off pieces are covered in dry glazes, which I have developed myself, in order to reflect the earthy colours and textures one finds in nature.
I work from my studio in Vanderbijlpark, where I also teach ceramics.
