My introduction to Pottery, approximately 40 years ago, was through a delightful person called Gertie Hummitsch.  I took classes at her Edenvale studio for a few years and what was initially an escape for a few hours from household chores became a most fulfilling ongoing  relationship with clay.  Once hooked, I joined Digby Hoets for classes and have been with him ever since.  I also have my own studio at home.
I work mainly in stoneware and enjoy throwing on the wheel.  The first time I ever exhibited was at the Oude Libertas National Ceramics Exhibition, held at the Brickor Head Office, in 1977 and have continued to exhibit on Regional and National exhibitions.  I have attended numerous workshops offered by the Ceramics Association and studied under Suzette Munnik for a year. I served many years on the A.P.S.A. committee, as Ceramics South Africa was previous known.
