I have been working with clay since 1970, but it was in 2000, as a lecturer in ceramics at the then Technikon Witwatersrand, I enrolled for the B Tech in Ceramic Design, that I feel my work really took off. Continuing my pursuit of the ethereal through translucent bodies, I started working with bone-china.
I began experimenting with soluble salts soon after this and I am currently continuing my work with these fascinating materials.
In many ways this combination of the soluble salts on the translucent bone-china is the perfect vehicle for me, and the experimentation and exploration involved is a constant source of inspiration.
In 2009 I had one of my pieces accepted for the 5th World Ceramics Biennale in Korea and was also accepted as a member of the International Academy of Ceramics.
