I started pottery part time about 10 years ago. I enjoy all handwork and recently coiled and smoke fired a few large pots using the traditional African methods.
I find sculpting the human form and carving from large blocks of clay to be very therapeutic and rewarding. I am more interested in the making and the form of the work than the surface decoration, but am fascinated by the effects the different oxides bring out in my work and would like to explore this more. When I am not potting, I am an avid golfer
