(b 1951) N.Dip Fine Arts 1973. N.Dip Ceramics, 1998
Watson, established ceramic artist, works in two district areas, alternating between vessel-making and sculpture.
She works in stoneware clay and more recently porcelain as the whiteness and fineness makes it an ideal material for graphic work. Subject matter includes plants, rocks and trees found in arid areas of her native Eastern Cape and the Small Karoo.
Lynnley was selected for Fletcher Challenge Award in Auckland, New Zealand 1993, and was invited to work at the Czech symposium Interchange in Prague. She was a finalist in the Brett Kebble Art Award for 2003, 2004 and 2005 and a finalist in the Nelson Mandela Art Museum Biennale in 2006
She is at present involved in the establishment of the ceramic studio at the Keiskamma Art Project, Hamburg, South Africa.
Watson has won many awards, and has exhibited nationally and internationally. Her work is in private and public collections locally and abroad.
