My journey with clay started in 1992 , under the guidance of Pat Young in her Parkwood studio.BUT I only started to learn about ceramics when the opportunity arose to bring my two passion together and I started teaching ceramics at the Berario Recreation Centre.(I have an H.D.E)

My work has been influenced by attending workshops run by Ian Garrett and Anthony Shapiro .Most of my ware is thrown on the wheel and then smoke fired or horsehair raku fired. I love the way fire and smoke creates uncontrolled results to the surface of my pots, as if Mother Nature is painting the piece. Working with fire is a very special spiritual experience. I am currently attending John Shirley’s mentorship programme and experimenting with bringing colour into my horsehair fired pots.

I have started teaching ceramics at Sparrow F.E.T. School. My objective is to awaken young people’s love and interest in creating beautiful conceptual artistic pieces in the medium of clay.
