Tanya Babb
Tania Babb is essentially an artist who works in clay and doesn’t really consider herself a potter. She says, “I sculpt”. Her sculptures of women are simplified to accentuate the archetypal essence of the woman. Their relationship to the world is symbolized by the animals they hoist or straddle. Three is a lightness of spirit in her work which juxtaposes the solidarity of the clay. “She says almost everything sayable at some point and always draws upon wit to bridge the divide between us and uncomfortable topics.”
Babb has won awards both locally and internationally and is represented in selected galleries both provincially and abroad. She had also appeared in numerous publications.
Babb has been sculpting for fifteen years and has established collectors all over the world.
