Wendy Goldblatt
I have been a potter for over 40 years and was one of the founder members of what was then APSA (now Ceramics SA).  I was also a founder member of the Craft Council of S.Africa and co-authored a book on South African Crafts.
I work with both terracotta and porcelain clays -   I love the richness of the dark red of the former and the purity and starkness of the latter.  I mostly decorate my work either using a rich palette of colours but I also often limit my colours to black with a touch of colour for emphasis, leaving the main body of my pieces unglazed on the outside.
I have exhibited my work on several Regional and National Ceramics SA exhibitions and also on various FNB National Craft Exhibitions and have work in private and public collections both in South Africa and overseas.
I have also  taught ceramics for the last 25 years and enjoy teaching students to do both hand and wheel work using earthenware, stoneware, porcelain, paperclay so that they find the  clay that they most enjoy working with.  For me, it is most important that each student voices their own personality in their work.
